meowsome

Developer, artist, gamer, nerd.

I'm just an out-of-the-ordinary guy who sees things a bit differently. I generally call myself "meowsome" online, and I use a Leafeon as my persona. I enjoy coding websites, drawing, playing video games, and more. Feel free to ask me more about myself in conversation!

History

Discovery of Jimdo & Tumblr

Summer 2014

Recently having received an iPad Mini as a Christmas present, I was excited to learn more about what the web had to offer. I'm not exactly sure how, but I discovered Jimdo first (which looks much different now than it had in the past), and began to tinker around with how it worked. A while later, I discovered Tumblr, and found that I could apply the coding aspects I taught myself from Jimdo. It wasn't much, but this is how my interest coding began.

Minecraft Server

Summer 2015

I had been curious about what it was like to run a Minecraft server for a while, and I finally decided to purchase my own during the Summer of 2015. I called it Nogard, and it's still around today! I learned a lot about network management since I started the server, including working with files via FTP, managing players and staff members, and more.

Interest in Art

Fall 2015

Although I had animated stick figures on Flipnote Hatena in the past, my desire to draw other things peaked once school began in 2015. My friend gave me a small tutorial, from which I took some basic knowledge and have grown since. I still attempt to learn more about drawing techniques today, with the help from some other friends.

Creating Free Art & Websites

Summer 2016

I began to create free websites for people I knew to try and improve my web design skills, and improve them it did! You can see the improvement of my development skills by visiting the "Portfolio" section of this site and comparing the older sites to the newer ones. While doing this, I learned more about Tumblr HTML, Github basics, Brackets, and so much more!

CSU & Hensel Phelps Internships

Summer 2017

I had two different internships during the Summer of 2017, which was definitely an amazing opportunity, but also very overwhelming. For the CSU internship, I created a Wordpress Site for an engineering professor, and for the Hensel Phelps internship, I created a microsite template, shadowed a few developers, and tested an application for bugs. I learned about Material Design, Wordpress, Microsoft Azure, Chrome DevTools, MAMP, and a lot more during these two internships.
